Kaffe spends a large part of his year travelling internationally for his patchwork colour workshops and inspirational lectures. If you are interested in booking Kaffe for any future events, please see the information below

Kaffe Fassett’s Glorious Colour lecture

The Kaffe Fassett lecture is designed to inspire and motivate. The presentation highlights works from his latest projects, including his patchwork quilt, fabric, needlepoint, mosaic, painting and knitting designs. A tremendous amount of Kaffe’s inspiration comes from his continual travels and his lecture is designed not so much to instruct but to empower and inspire the audience to create and develop their “mind’s eye”. Audiences leave invigorated – entranced by Kaffe’s sense and use of colour; they are ready to try it themselves and are encouraged to do so. The slide show lasts approximately 1 hour followed by a question and answer session and book signing.

Kaffe would like the presentation to start with Brandon Mably, his Studio Manager, giving warm up introduction.

Requirements and set-up

The lecture images are on a Keynote presentation produced on a mac using Power Point 2008 for Mac, version 12.2.4. which will be operated by Brandon as Kaffe talks to the audience. We would kindly ask you to organize for an LCD or High definition projector to be on hand with a VGA cable for Brandon to hook his iPad and Apple Lightning Digital AV adaptor to run the presentation.

Brandon will also bring the slideshow on a memory stick as back up.

It is essential that the lecture facility be in a room where we can have complete darkness when the presentation is running. Please also provide as large a screen as possible and a clip on mic for Kaffe. Kaffe doesn’t need a lecture podium as he improvises as he talks but we do ask for water to be provided and a couple of tables if samples are going to be show.

The slide show lasts for just over an hour followed by a Q&A session and book signing. Audiences are usually very enthusiastic after a talk so we strongly recommend that you arrange for books and fabrics and yarn to be on hand to be sold by yourselves or we can assist in helping to find a shop to support the event.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to email on

Kaffe Fassett’s and Brandon Mably’s patchwork workshop

Kaffe and Brandon use most class time in teaching the arrangement of fabrics to develop each student’s own personal color palette in making one of their original designs. No sewing takes please during the class.

The room required for this class must be large enough so that each student can have ample cutting space, but more importantly each student needs enough wall space to hang and work on their own design wall.

Wide painters tape (strong blue tape) needs to be supplied by the class organizers for the students to hang their flannel cloth design walls – each student will need a space 6′ high by 5′ wide on a solid, flat, vertical surface.

PLEASE be sure it is OK to hang design walls using tape. We cannot do a class without the design walls taped or pinned to the solid flat walls.

If you do not have wall space, you will need to supply boards to tape/ pin the design walls to. Each student will need a board roughly 6′ high by 5′ wide.

The class is one full day. Together they can teach up to 30 students.

If the host is not a fabric shop, a shop should be organized to support the hosts to provide fabrics on the day for students to purchase additional fabrics from.

If the hosts or students have anymore questions please email
