Kaffe and I have just returned from the 'Festival Of Quilts' in Birmingham, where we had a very successful time giving a workshop and book signings. Amy and David Butler and Susan Brocket, who has a terrific blog called Yarn Storm This link opens in a new window joined us too. I'm pleased to say advance copies of the latest Rowan patchwork magazine 'Quilts en Provence' were flying out the door. It's weird that, just as the new P&Q book is released, we are travelling to Sweden photographing the next book for publication in 2011. Fingers crossed the weather will be kind to us.

In the latest Rowan knit magazine there is a jolly article on 'behind the scenes on the photo shoots' written by our lovely photographer Debbie Patterson. Debbie and I get on particularly well as we share the same silly sense of humour, which sometimes gets us in trouble – especially when the pressure is on.

I wish you could see the hallway to the studio at the moment. It is stacked high with boxes and quilts that my trusted assistant, Katy Kingston, is carefully preparing for all the different shows we have going on. Our next exhibition will be at The European Patchwork Meeting on the 16th-19th September 2010 in St Marie Aux Mines, Alsace, France at the invitation of Quilt Mania Magazine This link opens in a new window, where we will be displaying 25 quilts for the Enchanted Gardens Quilt show. Whilst this is on, there will be an exhibition of 30 of Kaffe and Liza's quilts in Pennsylvania – at the National Quilt Extravaganza, near Philadelphia.

Back to London for a quick turn around before we head to Vancouver, Canada to start a 5 week workshop tour. Trickling our way down the west coast of the US ending at the Houston Quilt Market where Kaffe has an exhibition of the quilts from 'Simple Shapes Spectacular Quilts' as well as being the luncheon speaker.

If you are passing the news stands, take a look at the fall edition of The American Quilter magazine This link opens in a new window, which has a particularly good article about Kaffe in it. Good news for those who enjoyed Kaffe's Indian Striped fabrics – Rowan will be bringing a new range back this Fall. I understand around that time our latest ranges of fabrics will be appearing in shops and websites such as gloriouscolor.com This link opens in a new window.

I had place of honour on the cover of Vogue Knitting's foreign edition called 'Designer Knitting'. I designed the garment in Scottish Tweed 4 ply a year ago. Rowan are sadly dropping the range to bring in a new yarn, but this garment would knit up just as well in their Felted Tweed range too. Along with my alpaca ready to wear designs for Peruvian Knitwear This link opens in a new window (based here in the UK).

Kaffe has a new collection in the Peruvian Connection This link opens in a new window Catalogue - knitted in fine Pima cotton which are just gorgeous. When Kaffe is knitting up the designs for these garments he can really explore his artistry by mixing unlimited colours. The fine yarns he uses are especially dyed for the Peruvian Connection range enabling Kaffe to run 3 different shades of colour with each stitch using 40 or more different shades in each garment making them as beautiful and timeless as they are. For those in the UK there is an Outlet in Henley on Thames; also a few dotted around the USA if you are passing by.

I have to say – we have had a glorious summer -though this past week we have had a month's rain in one day. Did you know that London gets less rain than Dallas, Texas in a year – isn't that shocking! Anyway, happy days and drop me a line if you feel inclined or catch me on
