Kaffe Fassett Knitwear Exhibition at the National Wool Museum - Amgueddfa Wlan Cymru March 8th - November 2nd 2013 Running alongside the exhibition of Kaffe Fassett's quilts at The Welsh Quilt Centre in Lampeter will be an exhibition of his knitwear at the nearby National Wool Museum in Drefach Felindre near Newcastle Emlyn. This is an unmissable opportunity to see two aspects of his work in the glorious setting of West Wales. The National Wool Museum, part of Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales, is housed in the former Cambrian Mills, an industrial woollen mill in the Teifi Valley, which was once the centre of a thriving woollen industry. Today, the Museum, which has free entry, celebrates the story of wool, from fleece to fabric, with working machinery, tours, and a variety of both permanent and temporary exhibitions and displays. It is therefore with great pleasure that the Museum hosts this exhibition of Kaffe Fassett's bold and beautiful knitwear designs. For more details visit: www.museumwales.ac.uk |

The Fashion and Textile Museum, London March 22nd - June 29th 2013 Kaffe Fassett - A Life in Color Kaffe Fassett is widely acknowledged as a visionary textile designer in his explosive use of colour. This retrospective, designed by Sue Timney, celebrates Fassett's extraordinary life and career from his revolutionary knitwear for Bill Gibb in the 1960s, to his work with needlepoint, mosaics, rugmaking, tapestries, yarn and fabric design, costume and set design, and quilting. RHS Hampton Court Flower Show, UK July 9th - 14th Kaffe will be giving a presentation entitled 'Glorious Colour', at this years Hampton Court Palace International Flower Show. The presentation will be given in the auditorium of the Rose Marque on Thursday, 11th July at 11.30 am, and will be followed by a book signing. His books will be available for purchase before and after the presentation. The rose marquee is located at the Thames side of the show ground. The presentation highlights works from his latest projects, these include his patchwork quilt, fabric, and needlepoint, mosaic, painting and knitting designs. A tremendous amount of Kaffe's inspiration comes from his continual travels and his lecture is designed not so much to instruct but to empower and inspire the audience to create and develop their "mind's eye". Audiences leave invigorated - entranced by Kaffe's sense and use of colour, they are ready to try it themselves and are encouraged to do so. The slide show lasts approximately 45 minutes followed by a question and answer session and book sign.
